Winter Quarter starts Tuesday, January 5th! Visit www.skagit.edu/getstarted
SVC’s Basic Education department will offer a new Spanish GED® program at the Mount Vernon Campus in Winter Quarter. Classes are designed for Spanish language speakers who would like to prepare for the GED® exams in Spanish. Strong reading skills in Spanish are required. Successful completion of the course can count toward HS21+ Adult High School Diploma Credit.
Students may also co-enroll in ESL courses. These courses are designed to help non-native English-speaking immigrants, refugees, and citizens develop English language skills they need to plan for college classes and to prepare for a better future.
High School 21+ is different than traditional high school completion programs because it recognizes life competency in addition to classroom time and tests. Students can demonstrate their knowledge in several ways, including knowledge gained from life experiences, previous and current employment, specialized certifications, volunteer history, or other evidence of learning.
Orientation classes for new students start the week of January 4. The tuition for all Basic Education classes is $25 per quarter, however tuition waivers are available for those who meet eligibility. For information and to get started, (360) 416-7640.
In observance of the Christmas holiday, all SVC campuses and centers will be closed December 25th. We look forward to seeing you on Monday, December 28th!
