Skagit Valley College was recently selected as the recipient of the 2017 Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Community Leadership Award. SVC’s nomination by Mount Vernon School District Superintendent Dr. Carl Bruner recognizes the ongoing partnership between the College and the Mount Vernon School District.
“Our strong collaborations with the Mount Vernon School District result in exciting learning opportunities for students,” said SVC President Dr. Tom Keegan. “Whether it’s Maestros Para el Pueblo, College in the High School, Healthcare Pathways, Running Start, or any of the many initiatives we work on together, we are focused on excellence and seek ways to expand access, support achievement, and celebrate community.”
Throughout its history, WASA has been involved in honoring and recognizing outstanding educational administrators and those individuals in other professions who have made extraordinary contributions to K–12 education. The association annually presents nine awards to recognize people and groups who have impacted education in the state of Washington.
